GDL30A
The Garmin GDL 30A is a Marine Weather Data and Audio Satellite Receiver. For the first time, mariners using the GDL 30 weather data receiver can view the same leading-edge satellite weather data provided to television meterologists across the United States.
The GDL 30 receives XM WX Satellite Weather data, including animated NEXRAD weather radar and forecasts, current conditions, surface air pressure, visibility, precipitation, wind data, wave data, storm cell size, speed and direction and surface temperatures, for your boat's current location or along a projected path.
This information appears right on the Map page of your chartplotter, so you can see how the weather will affect your current position. With the GDL 30A, you can also receive XM Satellite Radio. The GDL 30A allows you to connect your chartplotter to your on-board stereo to broadcast 120 channels of non-stop music, sports, news and talk.
To take advantage of this detailed information, just connect your GDL 30A to the Garmin Marine Network, which sends the XM weather and radio data over the entire network, so any chartplotter can access and control it. You can choose one of several subscription packages that offer different types of services. The GDL 30A provides weather data and audio entertainment for the United States (except Alaska and Hawaii) only.

The addition of XM Traffic, Weather and Radio services to your compatible Garmin makes driving with GPS essential, even if you know where you're going. With an optional subscription to XM NavTraffic, your Garmin notifies you of accidents, road construction, and weather-related traffic delays before they are encountered, and then offers an alternate route. XM WX Weather brings real-time, animated weather data directly to your unit, so you can steer clear of bad weather. Add XM Satellite Radio to the mix for hours of commercial-free listening enjoyment.
Various combinations of traffic, weather and radio services are available for your compatible marine, aviation and automotive Garmin GPS products. See below for more information.
Designed for our Marine Network units, the GDL 30 weather data receiver - when combined with its GXM 31 XM satellite antenna (included) - bring real-time graphical and textual weather coverage to your compatible Garmin. Mariners wanting to add XM Satellite Radio to the package can opt for the GDL 30A receiver, which provides over 160 channels of XM Satellite Radio in addition to XM WX Weather. XM WX Weather and XM Satellite Radio subscriptions are required.
